Our first-ever Launch Family Carnival “Fun”draiser was a fantastic day filled with food, friends, fun, and community! Launch’s major fundraising event this year was designed to celebrate the heart of our organization: our kids and families. Students, teachers, and site managers at each of our sites worked together to design carnival booths for our guests – we had an exciting variety of games including the Montlake Claw Game, Maple Paper Airplane Toss, Cascade Vista Pool Noodle Javelin Throw, Sanislo Rubber Ducky Pond – just to name a few! Our cake walk, photo booth, “Soak a Teacher” game, spaghetti lunch, and face painting station brought an extra special touch, and we could not have pulled it off without our dedicated volunteers, staff, sponsors, and wonderful families.
All of Launch’s services are built upon our commitment to serving children and families historically and currently furthest from educational justice – those disproportionately impacted by systemic injustices and facing more significant barriers to resources. We are committed to leading the charge to brilliant outcomes for the children of our community by ensuring equitable access to the highest-quality learning and care. All funds raised at this event will play a crucial role in supporting our programs and helping to boost our unique Tuition Assistance Program – last year, we were able to offer nearly $170,000 in tuition support to 86 families, and with your support, we hope to serve even more families this year!
Launch is a Seattle-based nonprofit that provides effective, affordable early learning, before & afterschool enrichment, and summer expanded-learning opportunity programs for children ages 3-12. Our mission is to lead the charge to brilliant outcomes for the children of our community by ensuring equitable access to the highest quality learning and care. Launch’s programs are anchored in nine public elementary schools – nearly all are Title I schools – and three community centers in Central, Southeast, and West Seattle. We intentionally partner with underserved schools and communities where learning and support are most needed. All our services are built upon our commitment to serving children and families historically and currently furthest from educational justice – those disproportionately impacted by systemic injustices and facing more significant barriers to resources.
