Our Biggest Fundraiser of the Year
The 3rd-annual Launch Family Carnival “Fun”draiser was our best one yet! Held on Saturday, May 30 at Rainier Community Center, this joyful celebration brought together families, students, staff, supporters, and neighbors from all 14 Launch sites to celebrate the heart of our organization – our children.
Guests enjoyed a variety of game booths, a prize table overflowing with gadgets, goodies, and treasures, and a cotton candy machine that barely had a moment to rest. Kiddoes lined up for colorful balloon creations from Ottomatic Entertainment and creative face-painting designs that they proudly wore throughout the day. The Double Dutch Divas kicked off the festivities with incredible energy and music, while Mikey the Rad Scientist entertained guests with his unique blend of science and song. Jeff the Magician wowed audiences with an unforgettable performance, and the always-popular cake walk kept families coming back for more chances to win.
For the third year in a row, Mike from Snakes & Science returned with some of his beautiful snake ambassadors, giving guests the opportunity to learn about these fascinating animals through an engaging, hands-on experience. The combination of entertainment, interactive activities, and community spirit created a memorable day filled with laughter, learning, and connection.
A special thank-you goes to the Garfield High School Cheer Team and the dozens of volunteers who helped make the event a success. Their enthusiasm, hard work, and dedication kept the carnival running smoothly from start to finish.
Together, we raised nearly $30,000 in support of Launch’s Tuition Assistance Program, helping ensure families can continue to access high-quality care and educational programs regardless of their circumstances. Carnival proceeds directly support this vital fund, which has provided more than $1.2 million in assistance to families historically and currently furthest from educational justice.

Support Our Goal
As our major fundraising event of the year, the Launch Family Carnival and online appeal aim to raise $25,000 in critical funds that will directly support our efforts to remain a safe haven for all of our families – particularly those who are most vulnerable.
Most notably, funds raised will support our Tuition Assistance Program, which has provided over $1.2M to Launch families since 2019. This program ensures that families facing financial hardships can access high-quality early childhood education, breaking down barriers that prevent them from securing affordable, reliable childcare and support.
With the rising cost of living, reduced government funding, and ongoing challenges faced by marginalized communities, the need for consistency, security, and advocacy for our children and families is more critical than ever. Your suppport will directly contribute to our ability to offer educational opportunities, care, and resources to children and families who need it the most.
